For large projects, we can dispatch an engineer to site (travel and accommodation at buyer's cost).
What foundation is required?▾
Foundation requirements depend on building size and local soil conditions. We provide foundation design drawings based on your local building codes and soil bearing capacity. Typically, reinforced concrete strip foundations or independent foundations are used. We recommend consulting a local structural engineer to review our foundation design.
How many people are needed for installation?▾
For a typical warehouse (1,000-2,000 m²), a team of 4-6 skilled workers can complete the installation in 10-20 days, depending on experience and weather conditions. We provide a detailed installation manual and can review your installation plan beforehand.
Customization & Design
Can you customize the design for my local weather conditions?▾
Yes, we design every project according to your local wind load, snow load, and seismic requirements. Please provide your local building code requirements or the design parameters, and our engineering team will ensure the structure meets all safety standards. We use Tekla, SkyCiv, and PKPM software for accurate structural calculations.
Do you provide drawings for local building permits?▾
We provide general arrangement drawings, foundation drawings, and structural calculations that can be submitted for building permits. However, you may need a local engineer to stamp the drawings according to your country's regulations. We can provide all necessary technical documents in editable formats (DWG, PDF).
Can you match specific steel grades or coating requirements?▾
Yes, we can use specific steel grades (Q235B, Q355B, ASTM A36, A572, etc.) and coating systems (epoxy zinc-rich primer, polyurethane topcoat, hot-dip galvanizing) upon request. Please specify your requirements in the inquiry, and we will provide a tailored solution.
What is the typical lifespan of your steel buildings?▾
With proper maintenance, our steel structures have a design life of 50 years. The anti-corrosion coating system (epoxy zinc-rich primer + polyurethane topcoat, 240μm total) provides 15+ years of protection in normal industrial environments. For coastal or high-humidity areas, we recommend hot-dip galvanizing for 25+ years of protection.
Maintenance & After-Sales
What maintenance is required for steel buildings?▾
Steel buildings require minimal maintenance: (1) Inspect coating every 3-5 years and touch up any scratches, (2) Clean gutters and drainage systems regularly, (3) Check bolt tightness after first year and after severe storms, (4) Inspect roof panels for loose fasteners. We provide a detailed maintenance guide with every project.
Do you provide after-sales support?▾
Yes, we provide comprehensive after-sales support: (1) 2-year free technical support for installation and maintenance questions, (2) 10-year structural warranty, (3) Spare parts supply (we keep records of all your project's components for easy replacement), (4) Regular follow-up calls to ensure your satisfaction.
Can you supply additional parts if needed later?▾
Absolutely. We keep all project drawings and records for 10+ years. If you need additional parts, replacement panels, or expansion of your building, we can reproduce components with exact matching specifications. Many clients come back to us for factory expansions after 3-5 years.
Cost & Estimation
How much does a steel structure cost per square meter?▾
Steel structure costs range from $25-110/m² FOB China depending on building type: light portal frame warehouses ($25-40/m²), heavy industrial buildings with cranes ($40-70/m²), aircraft hangars ($55-110/m²), and agricultural buildings ($20-35/m²). Use our free cost calculator for an instant estimate based on your dimensions.
What is included in the FOB price?▾
Our FOB price includes: all structural steel fabrication, primer painting or galvanizing, purlins and girts, bolts and fasteners, erection drawings and manuals, packing, and loading onto the vessel at a Chinese port. It does NOT include: ocean freight, marine insurance, import duties, local taxes, foundation work, or on-site installation.
How accurate is your online cost calculator?▾
Our engineering-grade calculator estimates steel tonnage within ±10-15% accuracy based on portal frame design standards. It calculates primary steel (columns + rafters), purlins, secondary steel, and bolts separately. For a firm quotation, our engineers review your specific wind/snow/seismic requirements — this typically adjusts the estimate by ±10%.
What factors affect the final steel structure price the most?▾
The biggest price drivers are: (1) Overhead crane capacity — a 20T crane can double column steel weight, (2) Wind/snow load requirements — cyclone zones add 15-30% to steel tonnage, (3) Seismic zone — adds bracing and heavier connections, (4) Span width — clear spans over 40m require heavier rafters, (5) Surface treatment — hot-dip galvanizing adds ~$200/ton vs. primer paint.
Import & Logistics
How do I import steel structures from China?▾
The process is: (1) Confirm design and sign contract, (2) We fabricate and send you loading photos, (3) You arrange freight forwarder or we recommend one, (4) We ship FOB from Qingdao/Shanghai port, (5) Your forwarder handles customs clearance, (6) Delivery to your site. We provide all export documents: commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, and certificate of origin.
How many containers do I need for my building?▾
A typical 1,000m² warehouse fits in 2-3 × 40HQ containers. Rough estimate: 1 × 40HQ container holds approximately 20-25 tons of steel or 400-500m² of building. Our packing team optimizes container loading to minimize freight costs — we send you the loading plan before shipment for confirmation.
What are the common mistakes when importing steel structures?▾
Top mistakes to avoid: (1) Ordering before confirming local building code requirements, (2) Not checking bolt grade specifications for your wind zone, (3) Skipping third-party inspection for large orders, (4) Not verifying container loading photos before shipment, (5) Assuming the Chinese foundation design fits your soil conditions — always have a local engineer review it.
Can you help with customs clearance in my country?▾
We provide all required export documents and HS codes (typically 7308.90 for steel structures). For most countries, your local customs broker handles clearance — we can recommend experienced freight forwarders in Southeast Asia, Middle East, Africa, and Australia who have handled our shipments before. Import duty on steel structures is typically 0-15% depending on your country.
